Great album! I've read a few complaints from fans and certain critics that this record sounds too similar to their last album High Violet, and that it sounds too "familiar". But honestly, when the songs are this brilliant, who gives a rat's ass? So the National sounds like The National. Big deal. These guys are 6 albums into their career, and as a fan I don't need them to reinvent the wheel every time they make a record. The songs are what matter most.
