Albums you've recently rediscovered

Definitely one of my favorite Canadian albums of all time. I LOVED this band. My favorite Weeping Tile memory is a show they did in Calgary back in '96 or '97. For the encore they all switched instruments (with Sarah on drums) and played an amazing cover of the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage" that absolutely brought the house down. Even better was my friend Kim and I enjoying a round of beers with the entire band and chatting with them for a while after they opened for the Skydiggers at Wild Bill's in Banff. Good times!

one of my favourite bands too! they did the same thing at a show in halifax once - that sabotage cover was killer! i got to hang out with sarah harmer for an hour or so drinking some wine and talking music after the show. she explained to me that she wrote "westray" on a trip to the east coast after the mine disaster. she'd been reading "barometer rising" and some of the ideas for the song came to her as they were driving over the bridge into halifax and she filled in some more while driving to cape breton and passing the area.

great band and great people too, eh?

westray is my favourite track on cold snap, i think...but that whole album is a classic! :thumb:
