Stephen Dame Wrote:Gomery found that Chretien's former cheif of staff and his political friends then created a kick back scheme, which it says right on the first page of Gomery's summary; Martin and Chretien knew nothing about. The accused even testified that he told everyone involved that "JC was not to know."
And the Cigarette Smoking Man replied, "Yes ... then our plausible deniability will remain intact."
And that's all there is to say about that.
Let's remember that Gomery's scope was limited to exclude Martin's dealings with Earnscliffe.
What Gomery really needed was a huge, unlimited scope, so that he could report back sometime in 2011 and tell us that this kind of stuff has been how things get done in Canadian politics since MacDonald.
