The "New" NHL
#7

I agree, I would rather see 1 nothing game with alot of scoring chances than a high scoring game with a bunch of flukey goals

Diving penalties belong to a league where there's no penalty unless someone falls down. When the refs are calling things much more strictly, they start to look like an attempt to even out the penalties, which doesn't exactly give you any faith in the refs....

another thing thats wierd about some of the calls they've made about diving is that they will also call a coincidental minor for hooking the guy that took a dive, if it was a dive why call a hooking penalty? and it does seem that the refs have really made alot of terrible calls trying to even out the penalties for both teams. One team will have 3 penalties in a row and its inevitable the other team will get the next three calls against them. All in all, I think all the criticism of the refs is well founded, they are doing a horrible job. Hopefully it will improve throughout the year, and i'm not buying all this "its a learning process" bullshit. There have been many complaints about how bad all the penalties are that are being called and they're still calling them.
