Couldn't agree with you more. I'd rather see a 2-1 game with some nice saves, some nice checks, and maybe a scrap than some stupid 8-6 goalfest. But apparently I'm in the minority.

To me it's about flow and speed in the game. If that's there then I think you'll still see the big hits and physical play. And goalies are still much better than in the past, even with the smaller pads. So if all that is there and everyone is playing well, then maybe the score is only 2-1 or 3-2... and that would be perfectly OK with me.

A lot of time, high scoring games are indicative of sloppy play, which is usually not entertaining.

If the rule changes result in well-played, skillful yet physical games with maybe just a little bit more scoring, then I'll be one happy hockey-watching couch potato! :thumb:
