A small distinction: Dylan isn't strutting around trying to be a sex symbol for senior citizens. He's acting his age. And he's still putting out fresh CDs as recently as 2001. People actually listen to his new stuff. Like our Mr. Downie, whose mix CD done for Maxim had a Dylan tune from 2001's "Love and Theft" (High Water for Charley Patton).

People actually go to see Dylan to hear stuff he's done in the past decade, not what he did in '65. And when you do hear him do a tune from '65, chances are you won't recognize it, because he's come up with a new arrangement, with a modified melody.

Quick, name a Stones tune from the past decade ... and now tell me people buy Stones tickets hoping to hear that tune live. Oh, and I can't wait to hear their fresh, new arrangement of "Satisfaction."

The Stones are running on empty, and they have been for a long time. Being a dinosaur isn't about your age, it's about coasting along on the basis of what you did thirty years ago.

Well put. Anyone comparing the modern day Dylan to the modern day Stones is a clown who has no idea what he's talking about. Love and Theft is a brilliant album. Bob rules. Case closed.
