You might need to check out a few of the early US shows from Summer '98 (ie. Bill's Bar). I think there are a few in there where Gord doesn't use the lyric, but after '98, it's in there for just about every show. I'm pretty sure it does come from a Monty Python gig..

You are right about Bill's Bar in August, 98. But check Martyr's in Chicago in early Aug. 98 which was a week before Bill's. Gord said it then.

And let me put my vote in for Monty Python as the origin of the line.
