For the umpteenth time, I'm not a Flames fan. Sure, I wanted them to do well because I live here, but I wasn't upset when they got bounced. But one thing I'd like to ask - and I'm sure your pea-brain won't be able to generate a meaningful response - but how was this the Flames "next year"? Iginla is 29 and is signed long term. Kipper has a couple more years on his deal (and only turns 30 when the puck drops for the 06/07 season). Phaneuf was a rookie. Regehr is 26. Those four guys form the nucleus of this team, yet they are either in the prime of their careers or just about to be. Yet this was "next year"? Uh, OK. Nice work as always, boy wonder.
