Any player from any team deserves to be booed when you blow 4 straight save opportunities, let alone when it's done against your arch nemesis; and your salary is over $10 million/year.
Yup. Worst fans in baseball. Just like Torre said - given all that that guy has done for the Yankees, he doesn't deserve to be booed after a rough stretch.
So, is Torre reputable or not? Make up your mind dude.
Your earlier comment above:

"I think it's inexcusable if the boos were from Yankee fans because they wouldn't be crawling all over themselves to get into this ballpark if it weren't for him," New York manager Joe Torre said.
Pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre had a similar reaction.
"I was very surprised by that. Everything he's done here and in this ballpark, I was shocked. But that's New York," Stottlemyre said.

So you don't think there were any boos, and Head Up His Ass Rivera thinks they came from Sox fans (yeah, I'm sure Sox fans would boo the guy that's blown four straight games against them - they'd give him a standing ovation).
Stottlemyre is the only honest guy of the bunch.

Here we go again. Tommygunn's bored. Does DC send you a nickle everytime you fight his battles?
Stottlemyre was the only guy who called it as it was: But that's New York. I gave him credit for making that honest statement.
Torre expressed disappointment, and I agree with his opinion that in no way should Yankee fans should be booing him. What does that have to do with honesty? Oh right, nothing.
Would this make you feel better? How about I revise my quote to: "Rivera has hid head up his ass if he thinks it was Sox fans booing. Stottlemyre called it correctly. And I agree with Torre."
And here's an idea: if you don't like the Yankee bashing, don't read the posts.
Have a great day!
