Big Labels are making noise about this simply because the crap they put out isnt really worthy of purchase, stuff like Ashlee Simpson (haha, what a scape goat shes become). They wont make any money off of downloads because people will realize its crap before they buy it, or that they're content with the download because the album will give them nothing more. And, that they dont want an album that'll be tossed in the trash after a few months, once the 'flavour of the month' is done. So they just download it if they want to keep with 'pop culture'.
Who's to blame? Not music lovers, not inspired artists...its the industry, falling victim to a beautiful thing called poetic justice.
