Well, I usually have a press pass if I'm going for that specific reason, but a few times, including Skydome with big "NO PRO PHOTOGRAPHY" signs up, I got in no problem. Seems to depend on the person who checks you.

I'm going without a pass to Ottawa, and I'm hoping to get in with my camera stuff, but I really won't know until I get there... beauty of assigned seating is that I can run back to the car and drop it off if need be.

In general though, I find you can get into most events (sports, concerts. poltical etc.) if you just sling it over your shoulder. Looks less intrusive than a bag full of equipment.
