I have to agree with Steve on Joe Cocker's "A Little Help from my Friends". That's just a classic performance from beginning to end. Absolutely timeless.
Other honorable mentions:
1. The Who's performance at the Monterey Pop festival when they smashed their instruments to pieces, and as Gord says "where some people cheered, and some people looked away."
2. U2 performing "One" at Slane Castle 2001. Bono's father had just passed away 2 days earlier, and the performance of this tune is incredibly moving. The emotion on Bono's face suggests he's singing directly to his dad. Earlier in the set after an equally stunning version of "Kite", Bono thanks his dad for giving him 500 pounds to help finance the band's first demo recording way back in the day.
