What I like to do is set up Internet Explorer to ask me if I want to allow a cookie from someone.Go to Tools --> Internet Options, click the privacy tab and at the top there will be a section called settings. In this area, click on Advanced. Check "Override automatic cookie handling" and I select Prompt for both first and third party cookies. That way, when something wants to put a cookie on my machine, I get a prompt that says something like so and so wants to put a cookie on your computer, what do ya wanna do. At this point, you can check off allow or block, you can also check off always remember. I also have "Always allow session cookies" checked off as well. If you goof and permanently block something that you wish you hadn't, very easy to fix. Go to Tools --> Internet Options, click on the privacy tab again and click on edit at the bottom. This will bring up a list of those cookies that you either allowed or blocked. Just find what you want in the list and select always allow or always block. This is how I control cookies, along with ad-aware and spybot for other things. Hope that helps.
