Don Cherry
#15

When Don "the best thing to ever come out of Kingston  " Cherry diverges from hockey talk, it's only a big deal, because people make it one. So what the guy has an opinion on the war? Who says he has to talk about hockey 100% of the time? People aren't hostages. If you don't want to watch him, you change the channel, just like everyone does during the second period intermission (Satellite Hotstove = Root canal)

As well, people who criticize Don's opinions about hockey, I think that they need to remember that this man has been around the game of professional hockey for probably 50 years. Although some of his notions may be slightly outdated, he knows 100x more about hockey then 90% of the armchair captains that love to malign him.

And what Cherry said about the French and European's being more likely to wear visors is entirely correct. Statistically speaking a French Canadian or European hockey player is more likely to wear a visor. That whole thing got blown so far out of proportion it isn't funny. And yes, I wear a visor when I play hockey.

And one more thing, if you think the visor issue that Don has himself right in the centre of is a cut-and-dry issue, you don't even deserve to be part of the debate. There are many valid arguements for and against mandatory visors.

P.S. I do not worship the ground Don walks on, I just respect him for who he is: one of hockey's most knowledgeable men (you don't win the Jack Adam's trophy for nothing).
