In Halifax on Bayers Rd, there was (or still may be, I can't remember) a sign in front of a little apartment building that says "if you lived here", and another at the far end of the lawn that says "you'd be home by now". Not sure if the sign or the song came first

I remember that sign very well, my Wife and I where actually talking about that the other day.
