I, too, am old-fashioned and a lot of ladies enjoy this but there exists those who want to pay so I always split in half... right down the center. It don't matter if you had grilled cheese and she had lobster, right down the center. Now, NEVER, (lemme make that clear) NEVER let a woman pick up the whole bill unless... she invited you and you said beforehand you had no cash and she said "it's on me". Other than that, 50-50.

As for the forks...
Start with the furthest fork away from your plate (Salad Fork)
As the meal progresses move down the line
To the next fork, second-closest to your plate (Dinner Fork)
Then finishing with the last fork closest to your plate (Desert Fork)
If you have shrimp or lobster or snails, you may get a two-pronged fork...

O.k. You got me on the forks but, if I want to pay what's the big deal? I respect the 50/50 thing, but who cares if I want to pick up the tab? You won't be my bitch. You don't owe me anything.
