Boys. He used his free hand and rammed the kids head into the glass from behind. Then, when Vinnie got up, the fans boo'ed as if he was faking. Look at all the replays you want, go Zapruder if ya want, it was dirty and embarassing.

Forget hockey for a minute, it was a ridiculous thing to do, period. And despite the penalties, the Flames had ample chance to score, and couldn't close the deal. The deserving team won that game.

And 17th is not simply a road of joy. The Post ran a story today about the increasing vandalism and petty crime on the street, and quotes a few business owners who have been told by the cops to shut their doors, and are fearful of a Montreal style incident if Calgary wins the Cup.

Not to open old wounds here (pardon the pun), but it seems to me we've been here before:

Fifteen stitches would suggest Lecavalier wasn't faking...and to hit someone high from behind with enough force that his helmet comes flying off suggests Niemenen wasn't merely "finishing his check"...as Stephen said, the tape is pretty damning evidence...

As for the fans thing? In the heat of battle, ALL fans react impulsively (have we forgotten the Canucks fans reaction to the Bertuzzi hit already???)...This is the Stanley Cup finals folks! Put that game in ANY arena in the NHL and draw up a similar scenario and the home crowd would instinctively react the same way...

But then what do I know? I'm just a blood-lusting "Leaf fan"... :wink: :mrgreen:
