one of the best slide guitar players, if not the best, is derek trucks of the allman brothers. i've caught him live 4 times in the last eight months. he first played with the allmans when he was eleven. the band thought it was a joke. they all had to pick there jaws off the floor after he played for them. i got a chance to meet him late last year and just a down to earth guy. his solo band is great too.
