WHAT! How can you POSSIBLY defend those "poor" seals? Give me a break. I hate to sound so offensive but if you ever visited a slaughterhouse you would CHEER for seal clubbers. The things we do to animals are WAY, WAY worse than killing them...at least seals LIVE FREE until they die, unlike cows or chickens packed into crates and pens so tight they can't move all their life and given other animals' remains for food.
And no, I'm not a naive tree hugging hemp braiding peace-and-love hippie...I'm a carnivore, straight and true. But I have the more realistic frame of mind.
If somebody asked me for help killing a seal, I'd loan them a gun. It's the most humane of any animal killing in the world. Just because it stains the ice red and leave a VISUAL reminder that can't be swept under the rug for your delicate sensibilities doesn't make it any worse.
