Q. What is "Scared" really about?

A. Fear of obsolescence? Fear of Fraudulence? Fear of Fear? A fear-peddlar going door-to-door selling ... you guessed it ... Fear? - GD

That's interesting...Interview is from Tuesday, November 5, 1996...His answer has a line from his poem Align.

Align

This fear is fear
'cause it's so new
'cause it's so near.
I think the fear is here
'cause it's so sure
and yet so unclear.
This punk is fear
fear of fraudulence
fear of reprisal fear.
O this odious fear.
I'm out of place.
I don't belong here
where poise is poise
'cause there's no trace
where there's no noise
and the vulgar choice
hard to make
harder to voice
"What's on your mind ?
We want to know
and we want you to take your time"
quickly became "Have you made up your mind ?"
and in no time
"C'mon! Make up your mind!"
"Will you lay low
or will you
align ?"
