taper passes?
#12

I think it is awesome that the hip do let us tape but I think this next tour will have a lot more tapers. When I video taped the shows I went to for IVL I noticed at least two other cameras there. That wasn't so bad but there were a ton of people that saw me taping and asked if I was allowed to. When I said the hip are cool with this many peeps said they intend to tape next show. With taper passes or tickets then the hip can say how many tapers they want at any given show. I can see going to a show and every third person will have a video camera. This WILL cause problems. Too many tapers and the hip will cut it off. Taping got so crazy at dead shows they had to set aside an area for them. They also put a stop to video taping shows as it interfered with others concert enjoyment. I would really hate to see this happen at hip shows. All the hip really need to do is provide you with a pass that they can mail out to you allowing you to tape. You would still have to buy a ticket of course but this way they could cap it at 5 or 10 or whatever. Flash the pass to security no problems right. I wouldn't mind not taping the show as long as I know someone did and is willing to share. I have met tapers at hip shows that tell you they will contact you and don't. I even talked with a guy who was also video taping all the shows but was not willing to trade. I believe all the shows I tape personally don't BELONG to me, they belong to anyone requesting a copy. That is how the spirit of bootlegging lives on.
