An African or a European swallow? It really depends. And as far as swallows carrying coconuts, it's not really a matter of where he would grasp it (by the husk, for example), it's really a matter of weight ratios. The actual air-speed of an unladen swallow is 40 to 50 miles per hour. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, it needs to beat its wings 43 times every second...but why does it matter? The damn coconuts shouldn't have even BEEN in Europe...coconuts don't migrate!
