I wouldn't be suprised if the super furry animals have never even heard of the Hip or their album phantom power. They're from cardiff and as near as I can tell the Hip aren't all that big over there.
Over in the "Non-Hip" section there's a thread called super fury animals where it said that they're members of wilco and sonic youth. If this was the case then I'm sure they would have heard of the hip before since Wilco toured with them back during the second Roadside tour. But it dosn't look like that's the case from anything I've been able to find about them on the internet.
Of course I could be wrong, they could intentionally ripping off the title.
I havn't heard a lot of thier music so I downloaded some from kazza late last night. The little bit I listened to before bed didn't sound bad at all. Just my opinion. :wink: Their past cds were reviewed pretty good as well.
