I was at the Winnipeg show last night - in no way, shape or form are they 'mailing it in'. The band still plays with high energy, incredible energy actually and clearly they enjoy playing for fans. It was almost embarrassing to see the difference in energy between the Hip and Broken Social Scene (who clearly were mailing it in).

The Hip have been around so long, toured so long, it is somewhat ignorant of people to say 'they should be doing this or that'. They have earned the right to record and tour as they see fit.

they only earn the right if fans come back to see them!

their popularity is fading because of the repeat setlists, and the concert set-ups have been brutal. They will lose some supporters after this summer tour.
