The only thing I don't understand is that they've done the festival circuits plenty of times before, and have never resorted to such static setlists before. Look at the 2006 summer setlists which was basically the same situation (mostly festivals, a few small shows), and the setlists for those shows were amazing.
I understand them wanting to play crowd pleasers for festivals, but there are plenty of "hits" that they could rotate so we don't have to hear all the same songs each night (ie boots, 38, twist, pistols, greasy, thugs, scared, springtime, fireworks, something on, lake fever, silver jet, vaccination scar, lonely end of the rink). At least then there would be some variety.
Pretty disappointing IMO.
