A side note to the game last night...is there a stat out there that shows who has drawn the most penalties in the NHL this season? Sean Avery has got to be high on that list. Since he's joined the Rangers, he draws at least 1 penalty a night, often more. Last night the Islanders took 3 penalties against him, most needless. For example, he took down Sean Hill in front of the net, and then the puck went to the corner so Avery went to get it, so Hill goes up & gives him 3 or 4 cross checks to the back, takes a penalty, and the Rangers scored to tie it 1-1.

I know this isn't the most politically correct thing to say, but damn, am I ever sick and tired of Steve Moore's pity party. In the last 24 hours I've come across three different interviews that he's granted where he's completely willing to talk about "The Incident" all over again, yet in every interview he says that he wants to put it behind him but he can't. Uh, maybe cut back on the interviews Steve.
In one of the interviews he pointed out how Bertuzzi has never personally apologized for the incident. Of course, he doesn't mention that Bertuzzi was turned away by Moore's people at the hospital and that Moore has never allowed Bertuzzi to speak with him personally, but still, Bertuzzi has never personally apologized.
Now I'm not condoning what Bertuzzi did.....and it's pretty obvious that Bertuzzi is a Grade A jackass, but Moore's non-stop campaign to win over public sentiment has grown tiresome, particularly when he says things like said he figures he's missed 182 NHL games because of The Incident, and counting - yet prior to The Incident he had played exactly 67 career games in the 7 years since being drafted.

well Simon should be kicked out of the league based on the original precedent set by the McSorley incident. However, based on that precedent Bertuzzi should have been kicked out of the league, but as everyone knows "stars" like him would never be kicked out of the league. Simon is not a star in any sence and I think that the NHL might kick him out of the league to make it look like they're tough on these types of incidents.
I know this theory is pretty extreme but I've always been a believer in the idea that a player should be suspended for however many games the person he injures misses as a result of an intentionally dirty act, unless the player doesn't miss alot of games but the act in question warrants a suspension for a longer period of time. If someone completes a dirty knee to knee hit intentionally and knocks a player out for the rest of the season, suspend that player for the rest of the season.
