Thanks again Mav.

Huge favors for some and nothing for others. There's a seven letter word for that.

It's actually a six letter word... as in exchange for the ticket, I now have to shovel Mav's driveway for the next six weeks.

OK, I just read this whole thread haha. Great stuff. Didn't know they never played Wheat Kings before. But you guys were so excited to talk to them and that great! I would also think that they were excited to talk to you! They are regular guys just like us but being in a huge rock band they are isolated from everybody and everything cause there isn't enough time to talk to everybody. So I would think they enjoyed the kinda of one on one without being hammered by 2000 fans. Just my opinion but great stuff.

Im kinda of a metal head and I had the chance to meet Zakk Wylde here in Philly. He was the nicest guy and he talked to everyone. But once things ended at the signing he wanted to stay just to shoot the shit with the ones who were still there. He asked me if there was a beer store near so I ran off and picked up a 30 packs. Sometimes these people are larger than life but at the end of the day they are human beings. Not to mention that being on the road is rough so talking and hanging is really what takes up the day.

Shit I played college hockey and the travel from that wore me out, and that was only 30 games! haha, but maybe it was from my junior days of playing 87 games the years before.

Sorry, back on track. Great story!!

great pic here, Paul seems to be enjoying himself

My head looks really weird in that shot. I just want people to know that in real life, neither of my parents were eggs... or Bert from Sesame Street for that matter.

Also, I've heard this from a few people, so I'll clarify:

When Gord told me about not knowing Wheat Kings, he meant that he personally had never played it on his guitar. He just strums along during the song. The band of course has played it many, many times.

If you can't make fun of yourself, who can you make fun of right???

Feel no shame for having an un-photogenic head Dame.

To clarify again, and Shannon, Mav, Lance, DW74 and Chris and a bunch of others can verify this... Smile it's the damn depth on the lens ("fish-eye effect" in photo talk) that makes my head look like that, I don't have some deformed skull... not that there's anything wrong with that.

The image is stretched.

I really do have a normal head dammit!

I met Stephen in Hamilton last year and I can honestly say he has a normal head. :thumb:

Stephen Dame Wrote:- "The Glove Hand." Gord spoke to us earlier about how he played hockey in the morning... his reflexes came in handy. During the show, the guy beside me asked "does Gord smoke?" I said "Yeah, think so." So right in the middle of a song, this guy hurls a cigarette in Gord's direction. Downie pulls the most incredible Patrick Roy glove save of all time and snatches the cigarette out of mid air between his fingers. Our entire section gave out a cry of "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" like you hear at hockey games... or rap battles on TV (Snap! You got schooled!) and Gord looked right at him, then at me, with a look of "damn right. I caught it with my bare friggin' hands."

Stephen you are going to love this, I finally took a look at my pictures from the other night. Check out the Picture! The Glove hand in fine form!

Guys where did the image Go of Gord holing or catching the Cigarette ??

Has any of this video footage ever seen the light of day ?
