So I'm driving into work this morning... it's about 9:10am, I'm pulling into the parking lot, and what do they play on the radio (102.1 The Edge in T.O.)? 38 Years Old!!! Talk about a blast from the past!
I can't remember the last time I heard 38 before this morning... so I forgot how good that song is. But man it felt good to hear it! Just the right tone of nostalgia to help put me in a good mood for a long day at work (of course the mood didn't last after a few minutes in the office... but that's another story).
Gotta love hearing an old nugget like that and falling in love with an old favourite once again. :thumb:

One of the benefits to going home for Christmas is Southern Ontario radio. It may be the only place on earth were you'll hear "Killer Whale Tank" and "Double Suicide" on the radio.

Bumping this because I don't think this story is worthy of a new thread, but...
Last week I found the site that has transcripts of Killerwhaletank and Double Suicide, among others. Then last night, someone on a mystery fiction discussion list I belong to related a story she'd read in the newspaper, about a couple who were found dead, both shot with the same bullet. The police didn't know if it was a murder-suicide, double suicide, or what. And the woman who posted the story asked, "Is this even possible? How could you do it?"
So I forwarded the link to the rant.
I'm still waiting to see whether the group decides I'm too weird to stay...

97.7 (st. catherines) is great for playing all kinds of hip. the rare stuff is usually played during the noon hour when fans can request tunes. i couldnt believe one day when i heard "train kep't a rollin!!" from the late 80's....great stuff!! :thumb:

Q107 in Toronto always plays hip....including 38 years old
Speaking of which, on the day of the Nov 26 concert at the ACC they actually played all of UTH commericial free...probably one of the best things to ever happen to radio (besides hearing double suicide...i've never heard it on the radio but im sure its an experience)

ya 97.7 is pretty great for playing the hip and so is Q107, Thats why I can't listen to the Edge 102.1 out of Toronto anymore they just don't play enough hip. 38 years old was my first favourite hip song, it has definately changed a number of times though over the last few years though, i used to sit in class and write out the lyrics to kill time. I just recently heard a live version of it, man is it amazing live.

I almost think we need a new genre of rock radio station... maybe new classic? Because Q107 plays some older classic rock that I'm tired of or not keen on, but the Edge does play some crap and repeats things a bit much. If only the station managers would ask me what to play, then I'd be happy!
