Well, we can argue all the livelong day, where some of us can make sarcastic, hard-edge remarks, to which others will scoff with wide-eyed righteousness, and still others will belittle with snotty condescension.....so, for the sake of prudence:

Do what the fucking cops tell you to do, and nobody will die unnecessarily.

Then, those of us sitting behind keyboards in the warm, safe, comfort of our studies and offices won't have reason to point fingers, whine, and wonder why.

Or...don't obey their commands, and get the shit shocked out of you until what little grey matter you have buried in that tiny skull bubbles out your ears.

It's really no more complicated than that.

But. Cops get paid to deal with worthless pains in the ass. They're not supposed to deal with them by escalating their response prematurely. That's what it comes down to.

I aggree...crackheads doign the crack dance downtown calgary every day....that would make me carry a few tasers..not just one...

Will: point taken, but all models of Taser don't shoot barbs. Some are used on contact. Those are the type favoured for meting out extrajudicial punishment in the manner favoured by Mistress Jenna.

Actually, this might be part of the problem here -- The Taser used almost exclusively by US law enforcement agencies is a type of electroshock gun which does, in fact, shoot projectiles, specifically wires with barbs. The types of electroshock devices that are used on contact are more often called "stun guns".

LAw enforcement agencies, like the one in this Florida story, opt for the projectile guns because, obviously, these guns allow police to subdue subjects from a distance, keeping them out of danger of things like...say...swinging knives and hammers?
