..and I love it!
Picked up a brand new Samsung LCD HDTV today, and what a beautiful picture, I love it. And my Xbox360 looks absolutely amazing on there, what a difference! Sorry Im too excited and had to share, Im such a nerd these days. And the cool thing is when you buy a Samsung you get Rogers HDTV free for 6 months, too bad I didnt do this when the NFL was still going strong, and the NHL, but Ill still have the World Cup in HD this summer, and that will be sweet!
Anybody else loving the HD?

i have the samsung dlp 42 inch
i hope you guys got the pvr box, it was well worth the extra cash
do you guys notice that the us hd broadcasts seem to be better than the cbc? different cameras maybe?

i agree totally that cbc has the worst HD, theres a new channel called OASIS HD which looks really good and is perfect to show off your new set.
i have the samsung 52" DLP myself and NOTHING loooks better then HD NFL! or some of those 360 games.
Has anyone with an HD set tried an upconverting dvd player yet? Just wondering if its worth it since im not spending 1k on a ps3

And contrary to the opinions already expressed, I think the CBCs HD is great... when they are the people filming. When they take an American feed, the picture is crap. Same goes for TSN.
As a result of all the issues that Rogers caused during my move, I ended up with $305 in "Good Will" credits, and the HD PVR. The PVR and HD service will only cost me $15 per month for the first 2 years.

The CBC havin g worse HD doesn't really make sense... the cameras stay in the rink and various companies (such as NBC, TSN, and CBC...) rent them out for the games. At least, thats how I thought it worked...

3 days before I moved into my new house, with virtually everything packed up in boxes waiting by the door some no-good son of a bitch broke into my place and stole my 42" Samsung HDTV Plasma and my XBox.
It was in broad daylight, at noon to be exact and as it turns out from a tip to police the guy actually put it on the handlebars of his bicycle and rode down the street with it. I can picture it now, some crack-addict bastard (living in the market in Ottawa has it's disadvantages too) riding down Cumberland with my f*cking tv and Xbox with his big crack-addict smile, "I bet this score will get me lots of crack, maybe I can get me some heroin this time too!!!"
Of course the police were involved but even though they were given a few good tips and they are virtually certain they "think" they know who did it, I still have not got my tv back. I've checked all the pawn shops around town to no avail. Oh...it gets better, I didn't have renters insurance...now Goulet enjoys Jack Bauer and "Must see TV Monday's" on his 1999 Prima 27" tv.
Sorry to ruin the positive energy of the thread with my tale of woe...but let it be a lesson to all you fortunate folks out there with good tv's to lock your damn doors and...DON'T DO DRUGS.

Wow, that really has to hurt, so sorry to hear that Goulet. I'd probably lock myself in a room and cry for weeks if that happened to me. It's such an awful feeling when something like that happens to you, you feel so violated and jaded afterwards. I live in an apartment right now so I feel pretty secure, but if I lived in a house I think I'd always be paranoid. Especially if my wife was home alone at night, Im so glad I dont have to worry about that here. But once I had a car get broken into and cleaned out, I was so mad. You just want to find the bastard who did it and tear his heart out of his ass..

That sucks Goulet!!
I have a Hitachi 50VS810, nice TV, had it and HD for over a year now. Hockey is the worst HD sport, I think it is the white ice, the only hockey that I have seen that looks good is the outdoor game they played in edmonton a few years ago, the Express vu channel is showing clips of it and it is amazing. Need more Golf in HD!
My home theatre is sweet with my HK reciever and Studio lab speakers and sub. the house shakes. Forza motorsports on XBOX live is the best!
the autopsy scenes on the CSI shows are great too, oh and evangiline Lilly on Lost is great too.
HD is the way to go!!!!
