One of the benefits to being on a campaign, even a sinking ship like this one, is the people you get to meet and work with. Gord's (held back the curtains for...) older brother Mike ran and directed a cute "undecided voter dating-game" piece for the CBC. It airs on the network and Newsworld tonight, so you might still be able to catch it depending on time zone.

Our guy was John Duffy (author of "Fights Of Our Lives") who you may have recently seen being skewered on the TeeVee by psuedo journalist Mike Duffy. This deal didn't turn out much better for John, but Downie was great with all the participants.

Mike Downie is intense, but a little less introspective and meditative than Gord. A bit more easy going.

Anyway, if you haven't seen Heksenketel or any of the "Real Lives" programs, or if you saw them and really liked them, you can catch some of Mike's work on the CBC tonight on News Sunday.

I have been working on this campaign for the Tories and there is still a full week to go. Lots can happen in the next few days. If Jack cant hold his support the Liberals could still be alive.

I have said all along to the people in our campaign that you have to work as if you are down 6% in the polls even when you are up or appear to be up.

The one thing I am happy to see if that those Liberal attack ads on Harper have so far have had no affect.

I have also started working for the Conservative candidate in my local riding... a little late in the game but better late than never. I'm hoping my efforts, along with of course the rest of the volunteers in my riding, make the difference, because if the info on the various seat predictor sites out there are right, it's going to be a close call.

Nationally, Harper has run a brilliant campaign, while the Liberals assumed that everything would be the same as last election, that mistakes by the Conservatives would allow them to coast to another victory. How wrong they were!
