christmas eve on sesame street
#1

for me, one of the all time great christmas specials..and now it's on DVD, i can watch it all the time, as PBS for some reason doesn't show it anymore...there's some really wacked out humour in it, and some really honest to god heartwarming scenes..big bird trying to figure out how santa gets down the tiny chimney, cookie monster trying to write a letter to santa, and the best storyline(..shit..i must sound like a freak!!lol) is ernie and bert trying to get each other great gifts..bert trades his paper clip collection to get ernie a holder for ernie's rubber duck, but ernie trades his duck in for a box to keep berts paper clip collection..mr. hooper saves the day though, and it's really sweet to be honest with you..if it doesn't warm you heart, you have no soul!!!

merry christmas!!!

I think I remember talking about this a few years ago. Smile I watched it when I got home from school the other night. My parents came home in the middle of the show and sat down, completely rapt. It will *always* be my favorite Christmas movie...and "True Blue Miracle" always makes me cry.

merry christmas!!!

Funny you mentioned this... my sister and I would watch the special each Christmas when it was shown on PBS, plus our parents bought the audio cassette tape as well. My sister especially would listen to it REPEATEDLY... maybe a little too much, but you couldn't deny her, especially during the Christmas season. It really is a wonderful Christmas special, and I'm sure I'll reminisce with my sister about this special, like we often do. My favourite part is the Ernie & Bert and Mr. Hooper story.

Ahh, the memories of childhood... part of what makes Christmas so great. Thanks opiated, for helping me think about some of these good memories.

I'll look out for it... or I'll ask my sister if she has it and watch it with her and her family over the holidays... knowing her I'd be shocked if she doesn't already have a copy of it.
