This just in.....from a very reliable source in Ottawa on Saturday night, and then confirmed by another reliable source in Kingston when I was there on business today....it is pretty much a done deal that The Hip will open up for the Stones in Ottawa as well as down East. From this you can only assume that it will be the same case for the other 2 Canadian stops.
I was so pumped to hear this news. It's the only way that I will go to this show..and I might even pay for the pricier tickets now to get nice and close to the stage.
Do you think that there is any chance we will be able to buy advanced tickets via our THC memberships? or will advance tickets only be issued through Stones fan sites and regular issue through Ticketbastard???

According to the Rollings Stones website, Les Trois Accordes (sp?) will be opening the Ottawa show.

Les Trois Accordes!!! Wow!! That'd be a great show if I ever heard of them! Too bad it wasn't a pseudo name for the HIP so it was actually the HIP who came outand opened. Speaking of which they should do a tour of unannounced shows in random small venues where they are billed under pen-names ala the Rodents and the Constelations etc...

they played a small club show in B.C. a couple years ago as the 'fighter fighters'... as for no hip in ottawa, booo.

im not giving up about the hip appearing with the stones though, as according to chez 106 website (ottawa radio station) the rolling stones event in ottawa will be a day long event with other classic rock artists.... so hope is still alive!
