Hey,
Just wondering if anyone has ever been to the Salmon Festival, what it is like and all. Also was curious what there is in the area, campgrounds or hotels. Thinking about taking a road trip up to NF. Thanks

The Salmon festival is usually a good show. Last year they had Bryan Adams play to rave reviews. It's an outdoor event in a town of like 10,000. There are hotels, but not a huge amount of them as this is the only real time of year that tourists visit Grand Falls. There are a few campgrounds around, but they're not really in the town at all, maybe a half hour drive away or so. The one thing to be weary of is Newfoundland weather. It tends to be kind of crappy, laden with overcast skies.
Still, a great place to visit. I'm hoping to get down there for the festival myself this year, as it's in my hometown and within days of my birthday.
