Anybody heard these guys? I'm interested in checking them out. I keep reading articles about how great they are, and how Conor Oberst is being touted as one of the great young American songwriters, etc... I also read that they opened for both Pearl Jam and R.E.M. last year. So my question is: are they worth the hype?

i don't think it's even a "they"..i believe bright eyes is just connor..i had a girlfriend ages ago that listened to him, and i found a lot of it to be pretentious bullshit...the guy has talent, but if it's great singer/songwriter you want, check out damien rice..miles above bright eyes

Hear Hear...Damien Rice is one of the more unpretenious and lyrical male songwriters I've heard in awhile. Woman like a Man and Cannonball are sublime works of art.
