Canadian Walk of Fame
#1

I see the new inductees for 2005 have been announced, and if anyone deserved a star on that sidewalk its this man, what a story.. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.tsn.ca/boxing/news_story.asp?id=126563">http://www.tsn.ca/boxing/news_story.asp?id=126563</a><!-- m --> I knew his family had drug problems but that's unbelievable, what a fighter, that guy was a knockout king, here's his resume... <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.cyberboxingzone.com/boxing/chuvalo.htm">http://www.cyberboxingzone.com/boxing/chuvalo.htm</a><!-- m -->

Here's the list of inductees:

Paul Anka
George Chuvalo
Michael Cohl
Pierre Cossette
Rex Harrington
Daniel Lanois
Alanis More-is-shit
Kiefer Sutherland
and Fay Wray

as far as Im concerned Alanis should have her star put on the dirtiest, filthiest, grungy, dark, danky, crime ridden, hooker infested street in the whole country. Big Grin <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.canadaswalkoffame.com/">http://www.canadaswalkoffame.com/</a><!-- m -->

Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

George was doing the speaking tour gig when I was in high school. He came to Georgetown District High and gave an incredibly hard hitting speech. Nobody was heading out to the bush to get high after that one... seriously, the guy carried credability and a devestating message that left everybody speechless.

When he was done, the whole gym, I shit you not: all 1500 of us, lined up to shake his hand. Before the speech, people were dismissing him in the usual jaded teenage style "What's this old fart got to say? Big fuckin' deal, so Ali couldn't knock you down..." but after he was done, there wasn't a single one of us that didn't respect him. His story, the way he tells it, hits as hard as one of his rights.

Tragedy in immeasuarble helpings, and yet he's still a class act and an inspiration. Well deserved honour for George.

I couldn't have said it any better than Stephen did. George Chuvalo is a great Canadian.

If Ryan Seacrest (American Idol host) has a star in Hollywood, Alanis deserves one here in Canada!

Are you serious? Why? I knew you could petition for a star (it is about tourism afterall) but who the hell puts together a campaign to get that guy a star?

How did he react? He must have known it wasn't exactly warranted, no?

Hmmm... here's what I think: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://celebrityjustice.warnerbros.com/news/0505/18c.html">http://celebrityjustice.warnerbros.com/ ... 5/18c.html</a><!-- m -->

And here's what his site has to say: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ryanseacrest.com/walkoffame.html">http://www.ryanseacrest.com/walkoffame.html</a><!-- m -->

I think that the US Walk is a sham... there are so few real stars anymore, [insert line from Fireworks here]. I didn't see the ceremony; I heard about it on the radio, as the DJs were trashing him, and the walk.

growth challenge?? Confusedcratch:

A tumour in your body... that's a growth challenge.

Urban sprawl... that's a growth challenge.

What Alanis said? Sounds to me like proof of an intelligence challenge! :lol: :lol:

Hey now. Alanis deserves her spot. I don't like all her stuff but I respect her (for the most part anyway). Jagged Little Pill was one of the very best albums of the 1990's IMO.
