I wish I could figure out once and for all what exactly the deal is with this guy and his agent, David Frost...I've read some really indepth articles, but nobody can say for sure if he's turned his players into obsessive cultists, or if he's the best thing that ever happened to them. I sure hope this gets cleared up eventually, because one thing's for sure, some people have gotten really screwed up over it.
Danton sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison

CBC SPORTS ONLINE - Former St. Louis Blues player Mike Danton was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison on Monday for a murder-for-hire scheme.
The native of Brampton, Ont., was silent as U.S. District Judge William Stiehl read the sentence. Stiehl offered Danton an opportunity to speak but he declined.
"I do not believe in over 18 years on the bench I have been faced with a case as bizarre as this one," Stiehl said, noting that Danton chose a 19-year-old acquaintance and a police dispatcher as his would-be helpers in the murder plot.
While Danton is expected to seek a move to a Canadian prison, the chances of continuing his hockey career upon his release appear slim. There is no parole in the federal system and Stiehl told Danton that he may be barred from coming into the U.S. after completing his sentence.
Danton, 24, pleaded guilty on July 16 after admitting that he sought to have his agent, David Frost, murdered.
The plan unravelled when the would-be hitman turned out to be a police informant.
Frost, who was never harmed, has frequently denied he was the target.
As part of a deal with prosecutors, the U.S. government dropped a related charge against the Brampton, Ont. native of making a telephone call in connection with the murder-for-hire plot.
A federal jury on Sept. 20 acquitted co-defendant Katie Wolfmeyer, 19, of charges that she helped Danton in the plot. Danton met Wolfmeyer at an area mall where the Blues practice.
Danton faced seven to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 US fine.
Authorities said Danton and Frost had a dispute over Danton's alleged promiscuity and alcohol use.
Fearing that Frost would confront the St. Louis Blues' management about his actions, Danton wanted Frost killed, according to authorities.
Danton has been in jail since he was arrested April 16 in San Jose, Calif., one day following the Blues' elimination from the NHL playoffs by the San Jose Sharks.
Danton, a checking forward, was released by the Blues on July 1.
Danton's troubled NHL career began in New Jersey, where he was suspended by the Devils twice for disciplinary reasons. He sat out the entire 2001-02 season and only played 17 games the following year.
He arrived in St. Louis in a June trade by the Devils and scored seven goals, 12 points and 141 penalty minutes last season.
