EUROPE OR NO?
#1

What do you think folks for us here far away? I remember some nibbles bout it being pondered but now with all this weak rounder promo i'm wondering if it's likely. Any word would be mighty welcome. The summer is killing us thinking about missing this tour.

From what I've gathered, they're touring the U.S. in the fall and then doing Canada in the winter. So maybe you'll see them in Europe in the spring??

I hope they will come to Europe.....but I have my doubts. IBE hasn't even been released over here.

I doubt the boys would ignore their fans in Europe, spring sounds like a possibility :thumb: Maybe Rounder will get their thumb out of their ass and release IBE in Europe too.

You're shitting me? It's not out in Europe yet?

Forget Rounder, Universal Music Canada should realize the revenue stream they're pising away by not having international rights on the Hip, or at least the initiative to release the damn thing overseas.

That disc should be out there, and somebody should be fired because it's not already.

Agreed. There are a lot of Hip fans overseas, and they deserve to hear the album as much as North America does. A friend of mine just got back from Australia and she mentioned that when the album came out, she searched every record store in Sydney looking for it, but couldn't find it anywhere. She was pretty peeved to find out that it hadn't even been released there. She also said that some of her Aussie friends are fans of the Hip and were wondering why the boys haven't played there since '93.

I contacted rounder europe about this a few months back - and was told that IBE would only be available in europe as a import- late winter early spring tour would make sense

I sure hope we do get some European dates Sad

As for the non-show of IBE in Europe - all I can say is thank God for Maple Music! My copy arrived two weeks ago, and has been played non-stop since! "Vaccination Scar" and "As Makeshift As We Are" are just gorgeous.....

Plus, the cost of the CD, including postage and packing, was still a lot less than buying it in any shop in the UK.
