VIDEO of Gord singing Anthem
#16

Yeah, thanks Brian and Shannon. Good stuff! I'll say it again, Gord did what I expected. All in all, I think it was a pretty respectable performance.

Ugh I"m having trouble with the video. I dled the zip from Shannon's site and then WMP told me it was "downloading codec" then it told me "error downloading codec" and it played the audio. I have an audio file of Gord singing and this one is a much better quality! If only I could figure out what I'm doing wrong so I could see the video.

Thank you so much Big Grin

I don't know what to say.. I am more pissed about the fact they didn't broadcast OH CANADA for Canadian Baseball Fans..

Gord sang OH CANADA.. Canada Day 2004 at The Molson Amphitheatre with Joel Plaskett accompanying on guitar.. This was outstanding.. Big Grin
I think this counted for a lot more than the all star game ..

Once again, thank you for your help with downloading..

Cheers! 8)

Gord did a very good job with the anthem. Even though his voice cracked at a few spots, he did it with pride and respect. He was nervous. He could have put more emotion into it, but I think he didn't want to be accused of pulling a "Roseanne Barr". ( Plus, at the time he thought he was performing to millions of people. His largest audience ever. Wouldn't you be a little intimidated?)

Actually, I thought it was really sweet. He didn't try to be something he wasn't, but just got up and sounded like his normal self. You could see he was both pleased to be there and relieved when it was over, just as anybody would feel. Cool.

One thing: the lame 'thee' at the end would probably have been belted out at a Hip concert Smile

Good for Gord.

anyone else think it was odd they didn"t introduce him as
"the lead singer from the rock band, the Tragically Hip"???

I mean, with a national audience, you might want to give the fans a little background on who the guy is....?

Just my opinion... Confusedcratch: l
