OK, I really like this song.......kinda mellow and has alot of emotion in it. Does anyone else love this song? I think it's great. Also, does anyone hear a little bit of Locked in the Trunk in the beginning of Meanstreak?

'Are We Family' jumped out as one of my early favorites during my first few listens. I've read how many don't like it because it is slow and mellow.
When I hear it, it puts me in a happy, mellow mood. I would rank this song right up there with Wheat Kings, ABAC and Bobcaygeon. I'm not sure if I like this song more because I have my own family, but I can relate to the lyrics. I think it's about all of us treating each other like family and watching out and taking care of one another.
I'll have to listen to my Concert for Toronto boot to hear the Mean Streak rant. In what song should I look for it?

Official song of The Hipbase perhaps? That'd be cool...anyone agree?

Poets.... The bit in Mean Streak about 'the sound of the boots on the grass as the haywagon rolls past' is a rant Gord did a lot on the IVL tour.... heard a great version of it at the Walkerton show, Labour Day 2002.... but I think he did it at Skydome & also in the performance for the Queen that year?
Recognized it right away...
