Canada's diversity isn't the problem, it's the point.
Happy Canada Day.

They are. You're missing the point.
Here, you can wave the flags of many nations under ours. We are a nation of immigrants, of lines and heritage not of this land. And I would hope, a land free of "go back to yer own country if you wanna wave that flag" ignorant jingoism.
We have to be proud that we're not the former Yugoslovia or 1860's America. Multiculturalism means accepting everybody, even if they want to wave their flags after a football triumph, even on Canada Day, in fact: especially on Canada Day.
Again, it's the whole point.
And remember, those who chose, struggled and fought to get here have an appreciation of this country that perhaps we "natives" can't undertsand, an appreciation that goes far beyond symbols and flags.
This is Canada, let them wave whatever they want.

ummmm... wasn't there a big Portugal vs. Greece footy match yesterday? I hardley think they were flying the flags as some sort of anti-Canada day mission.
meh. I gotta say, If I was living abroad during a big Canada vs. USA hockey game, I think I'd be flying the Canada flag that day...
