Just drove by my favorite record store here near Buffalo, and they are closed down.
Whenever new releases come out they receive them a couple or so days early, and place them out for sale.
Hmm, there goes that idea.

No - sorry guys. Did not mean to make you worried.
NWR is still kicking.
I live in NT / Wheatfield.
Record Theatre in North Tonawanda closed.
They were damn expensive - but I tried to buy maybe every third or fourth CD there because it is a "local" store.
I was up by the other one before Gord's "Battle" came out and it was not there so I had to trek back to NT to grab it early.
I do not know if The brand new location will be throwing stuff on the shelves early.

Actually I got "Battle" Monday morning and M@W on Saturday.
I never asked how the CD's get shipped to the stores. Curious.
Is there a law against putting CD"s out early?

Hmm.
My wife works at Eckerd and they always put there DVD's out when they receive them. (at least her store in the hood)
She is not in charge of that, so I do not think I will be telling anyone so I can still get my DVD's early.
Kinda cool for birthdays and Christmas.
I give my brother a DVD and he is all confused because it does not even come out until the next week.

I used to work at one. It's hard to get caught, but according to my former manager's "not f**kin worth it!"

I know a lot of the places that stay open later will put it out at midnight, maybe 15 minutes earlier to keep lines short if there is a lot of people there to buy. The nice thing about getting it that Monday night or Tuesday morning early is that there is often some promotional material to go along with the CD. I know when I bought Gord's solo CD I got a Battle of the Nudes poster and the guy even gave me one of the IVL lithographs because I had a hip shirt on. Sometimes it pays to snoop around a little early!
