I highly recommend the MapleMusic web site as well; great selection of genres and artists. plus the prices are pretty cheap! :thumb:

keep it all a secret. i've been a fan of bands in the past that weren't well known. then they break out nationally and everyone and there mother loves them. being from a suburb of buffalo i used to see the goo goo dolls in small bars and hang out with them and shoot the road apples. next thing you know my 12 year old niece has johnny posters and wants to borrow my cd's. there still a great band but its lost its luster. i'm really looking forward to seeing the hip in small venues down south. 8 hour drive is the limit.

I agree wholeheartedly. I saw them in Seattle with about 1000 people and here in Vancouver with about 900 people. Both shows rank as some of my most memorable simply because they were so intimate. I think the next step is catching them with less than 500 people in the most obscure venue on the upcoming US tour.

I've seen them about 25 times (lost count) and I think seeing it in Toronto in an outdoor ampitheater will be the best.

Also try living in a place that no one has even heard of the hip and you never hear a hip song on the radio..... I go through hip withdrawls down south.

Can I be frank about seeing The Hip live?? I DETEST seeing them in Canada. Quite honestly, the venues are just too huge. Too crowded, too many drunk frat boys, too hot, too many flag wavers, and just too nuts.

As a Canadian now living south of the Border, I have to say that being able to hop on a plane (cheap tickets out of the Buffalo airport!!) and seeing them at intimate venues in Florida, Arizona, California, etc...that's 100 times better than ANY show in Canada.

I'll probably get chastized for this post, but it's just the way I'm feeling...

I'm looking forward to their upcoming US tour once the CD is released. I'm smelling a vacation or two down south again!!

Keep the Hip Canadian as much as possible. Not that i want to hide the hip from the US, I just don't want them changing their style to please the American public.

Let the states have Avril Lavigne and Celine Dion!

Why the hell would we want Britney Spears? Plus we don't want them back! Ever!

I seen them on both sides of the border as well as both sides of the mason dixon line. The best shows were in North Carolina because of the intimate settings. Also as I get older I dislike the stadium venues due to the crowds. With all that said the many shows that I have seen, The Hip have always put on a show worth the price of admittance and then some.
