Gord Downie's Acting Career
#1

Tthip posted a short film titled "The Truth About Rainbows" in which Downie plays a taxi driver. I had never seen this film and it got me wondering if Gord had any other movies to his credit (other than the big ones that most know like One Week and Trailer Park Boys). It turns out he's played a burglar (His line in the trailer is "Suck me"), a banana slug merchant, a man irate about his sandwich, and a dude named "Clammer". Most of these look like low budget Canadian productions. Anyone seen him act in any of these?: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0970841/

Reading through his IMDB page I also noticed he was in a doc called "Lennon or McCartney". Turns out Gord is a McCartney man.

He has a short but great scene with Joshua Jackson in One Week. Jackson plays a man with terminal cancer who decides to cross the country between Toronto and Tofino on a 1973 Norton Commando. One of my favourite Canadian movies with a killer sound track.

First Blu-ray I ever bought for these reasons.

Such a simple but powerful little message Gord has (which I biased-ly love), and rolls up a toasted western to boot.
