The wherewithal live
#1

I was just wondering if anybody has figured out what Gords rant is at the end of the wherewithal on live between us?

After all these years I still have no idea what he's going on about, but one thing's for sure, that song is thunderously heavy when they play it live. I'd say it easily rivals Fire in the Hole as the Hip's most hard-rock/punk inspired song. Best version of that tune I've ever heard is on the Brussels '94 show from the Live From the Vault series. I love it.

That song needs a reniasance (sp?). I don't think it's been in a real regular rotation since the IVL tour....and I don't even think they busted it out on the Summer Fling tour a few years back when they pulled out all sorts of gems. Bring it back next tour boys!

Summer Fling at Fort York second night. I was there and they closed with it. So. Much. Power.

No, it followed Greasy Jungle...which was also incredible. The encore was The Drop-Off, Greasy Jungle, The Wherewithal. It was an incredible night.

According to the setlist, you're both right.

I'm wrong. Apologies, bstrauss24. Thanks for the correction, Dana. Wherewithal closed the main set, not the encore. We'll Go Too closed the encore.

That was the most ambitious set of that tour....I'm pretty sure they didn't repeat a single song from the night before

Nope. And IMO, the second night was the better set. I almost died when they launched into 38YO.

I don't know if it's just a random rant or if it's from a song, but this is the best I can do in deciphering it:

you never really meant to take my ????
this evolution ???
you will not wait ?????
????my face was red

i never heard a word you said
i lost out with everything i had
i don't know why but i still feel bad
i know there's no way to solve anything
i know there's no way to tell you to stay
????????????????????????
but if you listen just a little more

You probably could make out as much as I could, though. Anyway, now you have me wondering if he is mumbling obscure song lyrics or not.
