Last night was the final episode of the hit t.v. series LOST.

I have been a loyal follower of Lost forever it seems. Crazy to think its actually over.
Several people I watched it with hated it. I loved it.

I don't think there's too much interpretation needed... what you saw was what you got in this episode, as opposed to the rest of the series. People who were expecting huge answers to anything last night are clearly Lost n00bs I'd say...
The mystery and mystique of the island was always used as a driving force behind character development. I think the finale just proves that the entire series is about these people and not just the island.
I could go on about the entire series and last nights episode, but I guess I'll leave it at that.

Agreed on character development. The show was about the characters first. That's why I wanted some sort of actual resolution with them. Jack dying in the same place he woke up was excellent. What happened to Miles, Kate, Sawyer, etc? Apparently, it doesn't matter. The inter-faith pseudo-heaven really rubbed me the wrong way. It struck me as a giant cop-out. The reunions were nice, the "rememberings" as it were. I didn't expect my questions answered about the island. I did expect some character resolution. The fact that they all died and eventually met up in a place they concocted in their minds in the afterlife was completely unsatisfying. Giant disappointment.

Was pretty good. Some touching scenes reuniting couples and whatnot and great that they did have some kind of conclusion. I loved that "Christian Shepherd" led them .. to, yeah, wherever. It was of course a whole load of nonsense, but then again it always has been, so it finished in fine Lost WTF? style!

Dialogue between Ben and Hurley at the end was cool.

I still do not really understand what happened.
But I figure if the writers wanted to end the show on the "faith" principle - so be it.

The finale was great, but I just don't get the ending.
Investing so many years in this puzzle of a show, and not seeing a solution to most everything.
This is like the whole show was just a dream - and I just think that is a lazy, craptacular, uninspired way for the writers to abuse the fans. I really expected more out of these 2 writers.

OK - I just read something, and now I am even more confused.
I thought that the ending meant that everyone actually died on the original plane crash. And the whole series was just what they did before they "moved on".
And now I see this and get more confused:

ABC sets the record straight about the series finale's plane crash images
You know those Oceanic 815 plane crash images that ran after Jack's (Matthew Fox) eye closed and the "Lost" logo appeared on our TV screens? Some "Lost" fans and TV critics have wondered if they were a last Easter egg from the producers, a clue meant to lead us to conclude that no one survived Oceanic 815's crash landing — and therefore everything we've seen over the last six years never really happened.

Well, ABC wants to clear the air: Those photographs were not part of the "Lost" story at all. The network added them to soften the transition from the moving ending of the series to the 11 p.m. news and never considered that it would confuse viewers about the actual ending of the show.

"The images shown during the end credits of the 'Lost' finale, which included shots of Oceanic 815 on a deserted beach, were not part of the final story but were a visual aid to allow the viewer to decompress before heading into the news," an ABC spokesperson wrote in an e-mail Tuesday.

That means, Losties, that we were not supposed to think that Christian Shepherd (John Terry) is a liar. What Christian told his son, when they were reunited at the church, should serve as guidance for our interpretation of the series' ending.

So let's review: Christian told Jack that he was dead and everyone else in the church was too — some had died before Jack, as we already knew, and some died long after. The sideways flashes then were a step in everyone's after-lives, a way to reconnect before moving on permanently. While there still may be unanswered questions related to that religious and spiritual conclusion to the "Lost" story, the photographs were really just a nostalgic, transitional touch added by ABC executives — and not executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.

Love or hate it, that's the final answer.
