Congratulations to Canada for winning the gold in hockey (what a great gold medal game that was!), and for putting on a great Olympics.

As a Michigan State graduate, and resident of the Lansing, MI area, I'm extremely proud of how our Ryan Miller played.

I was hoping they would have played at the closing ceremonies and just changed it to "it was back just a couple hours ago".......

Canadian musicians are only good enough if we have been accepted and sold records in the States..................but then again, this is nothing new

I was so hoping that the Hip could somehow play the closing ceremonies (or opening ceremonies), but the essence of what you wrote in your post would then pop up in my head: "But nobody outside of Canada really knows them, so of course they won't be invited." It's a shame. It would have been great if the powers that be who put the closing ceremonies together had the guts to just say, "These five musicians are an important part of the Canadian fabric, and if we're celebrating Canada here, we need to include them. You may not know them, but you SHOULD, and you WILL. Here are the Tragically Hip!"
