Wow, what an interesting story behind the "he said I'm tragically hip" line from SNL, and the 11 signal. It was talked about in a previous thread that he looked high on something during that performance, and someone said he just looked extremely nervous, that was totally the case. I didn't realize it was to that extent though. Cool interview.

I remember he did look very nervous during the beginning of the performance. But once the song got going, you could tell he started to completely lose himself in the song. To this day that is still my favorite performance by any band on SNL:

Agreed on both points, its mesmerizing watching Gord get lost in the song in such a trance like state.

Not sure if it was nerves or whatever, but watch when right after he sings "He said I'm Tragically Hip...", it looks as if he was expecting a reaction, and obviously didn't get it, and he makes this face like, "WTF...?"
Still a great performance though...
