I found this decent little video on Youtube. I tried the search feature, but came up empty.

After watching that video, and hearing how a lot of it was inspired by a Tragically Hip that Dallas was listening too...
I now hear a lot of "Thompson Girl" within this song. I'd be willing to bet that was the song he was talking about.

Yeah, it's nice to have confirmation.

that's definitely the song that inspired it.. Dallas was listening to Thompson Girl and was having trouble finishing Sleeping Sickness and felt that Thompson Girl sounded exactly how he wanted Sleeping Sickness to sound so he called up Gord and asked him to be on it.. I heard that on FM96 when they were talking to Dallas

Here's the finished version of the song with Gord taking the 2nd verse. You can also hear him singing the low parts during the 2nd and 3rd chorus. Great song.

The search feature is busted, apparently. We did have a discussion on this before, but I can't find it either.

It's the same chord progression, same key as Thompson Girl, very similar rhythm (if not the same).

I'm really digging this song. Being a fan of Thompson Girl, I didn't know how I'd feel about something that so deftly borrows from it. However, it rocks.

I was in HMV yesterday and decided to buy this album just for the hell of it. I wasn't a huge fan of the first City & Colour album, but I'm really diggin' the new one. I noticed in the liner notes, Dallas Green thanks "The Gordfather". I like that.

The weekend edition of USA Today for June 13-15 had an article about the new Myspace layout. http://www.usatoday.com/tech/webguide/in...haul_N.htm
The article itself does not mention City & Colour, but on the front page of the USA Today it had a blurb about what was inside - and it had a color photo advertising the Myspace article - and it used City & Colour's name and photo. (I assume from Myspace)
I just thought it was an interesting that USA Today used an "obscure" Canadian band as the lead photo.
