Tragically Hip in Kingston concert?
#1

2008-02-25 is a rumored date that I heard today. I think the new rink is scheduled to be open by then...but I was thinking the tour would be over by then?
Unless this is just a one off concert that if it happens will go down in hipstory.
(The source of the date is from a friend who goes to Queen's and works there for the "Arts Centre" and will work at the new rink once it opens).
It does make sense that The Hip would be the band to christen the rink.

The Hip have let it be known for quite a while that they want to be the first band to play the new arena. Rob Baker was heavily involved in getting the rink built. It was a huge long and drawn out process before city council agreed. Even after that some council members tried to put the kybosh (sp??) on it because it was going over budget.

The Hip will definitely be playing there, so I would be keeping your calendar open around February or March. I'm 99.99% positive Confusedcratch:

They actually created "tickets" for the first concert at the new arena - way back when they were campaigning to have it built. I have a pair in my Hip Memorabilia collection.
